Aranypánt Award

CERV-A-2023-1151
Roma Press Center Association
Budapest

The Aranypánt Award showcases authentic everyday heroes of the Roma community to raise their social recognition and challenge stereotypes about them. The Roma Press Centre aims to promote dialogue between Roma and non-Roma communities, strengthen Roma identity, promote the ideals of equality and human dignity, and uphold the rights of minorities.
The award is decided by public vote each year, and the candidates are also covered by the media during the campaign and presented in a poster exhibition in the Town Hall Square. The results of the public vote will be announced on 8 April 2025, at the International Roma Day, where a book presenting the stories of the previous winners and nominees will be presented.
