Közösségi építészeti projekt a Kálvária téren

The aim of the initiative is to provide a platform for marginalised, vulnerable social groups to connect, to live community life, to publicly present their goals and commitments, and to integrate them into the urban space.
The grassroots community architecture project on Kálvária Square will include a building exploring the concept of security, co-designed with the above actors and co-creating in the public space. Thanks to this methodology, actors who are barely connected in their everyday lives - refugees and immigrants, local Roma communities and civil groups, as well as young people from rural areas studying in Budapest - can shape their living space together, communicating in a spectacular and accessible way the vision of this diverse group based on differences and similarities. Working together is an opportunity to get to know each other, to engage in dialogue and to open up to a wider audience. The project generates new personal and civic relationships, new knowledge and methodological skills, based on the values of trust, tolerance, care and solidarity.
The successful implementation of the project will involve as professional partners the Spanish architectural and activist collective Recetas Urbanas, a recognised professional authority in the field of participatory design and community architecture, which is little known in Hungary but can be introduced and transmitted through this project.
