In Hungarian public discourse and professional circles, the concept of a "good school" is typically determined by progression rates, competitive results, and language exam pass rates. However, these outcomes often do not reflect the pedagogical quality of the school, but rather the strictness of student selection. According to the Association for Inclusive Education (Együttnevelés Szövetség), a "good school" ensures the opportunity for development for every child, regardless of their background or social status. Inclusive education deserves the recognition it merits, as these institutions create true value by providing every student with a chance for social mobility.
The Association for Inclusive Education aims to change the public understanding of what defines a "good school." A truly good school offers support tailored to each student's individual needs, providing them with the opportunity to thrive. The association is launching a nationwide campaign titled “Good School,” which places inclusive education as a core value. The campaign will showcase inclusive and integrated schools and their pedagogical methods. Through this work, they aim to ensure that inclusive education receives its rightful place in public discourse and educational policy, contributing to the creation of a more open and equitable education system in Hungary.
