The project supports Roma women living in rural areas who are affected by the abuse of their parental and maternity rights due to the discriminatory nature of the care system. The association raises awareness about the problem among care system staff, therapy group leaders and the wider society, encouraging them to play an active role.
The initiative develops a new three-element methodology, building on the experience of the last ten years, combining the local practices of the SZOMARO Association, the content of NANE's "Power for Change" training and the performative socio-therapeutic method of HPA, using the tools of sociodrama. This involves a series of training sessions for women working with Roma women in the care system to become trained group leaders, and training for facilitators who are committed to the topic and who can also contribute to the development of the new methodology.
KEEPING STRENGTH on the one hand applies to mothers, so that they are able to keep and raise their children despite all difficulties, to stand up for themselves and their rights. On the other hand, it also involves the participants of the project's training courses, so that they can become real supporters of mothers' advocacy as future team leaders. Finally, it is also for those who are working in the care system by enabling to provide meaningful support despite institutional constraints.
