Stand up for yourself, we'll stand up for you! - resistance is only possible in a community

It is increasingly difficult to fight against growing oppression. In many cases, even those who find undemocratic institutions unacceptable do not believe in standing up for themselves.

The "Stand up for yourself, we'll stand up for you" initiative was designed to make more people across the country realise that it is worth taking action for their community and standing up for their rights. HCLU organised theatre performances and film screenings for young people in Debrecen, Miskolc, Pécs and Szeged, so that they could gain motivation from the stories they experienced and learn how to become active citizens themselves.

"ProTest - Road to Revolution" is set in a dictatorial country where a non-violent movement is confronting an unjust government decision. During this interactive theatre game, the audience becomes part of this movement, joining forces to fight for a democratic and peaceful world. The performances were realised in collaboration with the Örkény István Theatre.
